 Meetings of the Norwegian Heraldry Society have untill recently unfortunately only been held in Oslo. Norway´s long distances and topography have made things difficult for members from other areas. On 25th March 2009 however, a meeting was arranged in Stavanger with the aim of starting a local division of the Society in the Stavanger (Rogaland) region. Eight local people gathered to hear a presentation on heraldry by the Society´s chairman.

 Over three years ago, some gentlemen with an interest for heraldry in Iceland decided on the creation their own Heraldic Society. On 8th of May 2009 the Societas Heraldica Islandica (Icelandic Heraldry Society) was officially founded.
